Staffing Industry Analysts and Ius Laboris Collaborate to Monitor Contingent Workforce Related Legal Decisions in Europe

LOS ALTOS, Calif., – 5 October 2009 –Staffing Industry Analysts, the premier provider of market intelligence and advisory services about the contingent workforce, today announced an agreement with Ius Laboris, a global alliance of leading employment law firms. Ius Laboris is able to cover Human Resource legal matters in more than 100 countries.

“Staffing Industry Analysts is very excited to work with Ius Laboris on monitoring the legal, legislative, and regulatory environment in Western Europe impacting companies who use or supply contingent labour,” said Ron Mester, Managing Director of Staffing Industry Analysts. “Staying abreast of these issues is one of the critical challenges for corporations who use temporary workers/independent contractors and for staffing firms. The monthly advisory report that will be produced will help these companies to not only stay on top of these issues for every Western European market, but to understand key implications and actions to take.”

The collaboration between Staffing Industry Analysts and Ius Laboris will consist of legal, legislative, and regulatory monitoring at the EU level and within sixteen Western Europe markets, including: France, Germany, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, Italy, Spain, Switzerland, Austria, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Luxembourg, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden.

Combining expertise and resources, the collaboration will co-produce a monthly advisory report which will be made available at no additional fee to Western European members of Staffing Industry Analysts’ research services, including its Contingent Workforce Strategies Council Members. The first report will be released to members within the week.

Some of Europe’s most distinguished law firms will be active participants in this collaboration, including:    Lewis Silkin (covering the UK), Kliemt & Vollstädt (Germany), Capstan (France), Bronsgeest Deur Advocaten (The Netherlands), Toffoletto e Soci (Italy), Sagardoy Abogados (Spain), Claeys & Engels (Belgium), and others.

“We believe the contingent workforce will emerge as a very significant part of the overall workforce in the next few years,” said Carolyn Knox, Executive Director of Ius Laboris.    “Given Ius Laboris’ pre-eminent position and its ability to cover Human Resource legal matters in more than 100 countries, and Staffing Industry Analysts’ pre-eminent position on contingent workforce related research and best practices, we view our joint project with Staffing Industry Analysts as a natural fit.    Going forward it will be important for all organizations to have better information about the legal and regulatory issues involved in their use and management of their increasingly mission critical contingent workforce.”
