Managing Risks Associated With the Use of Temporary Staff and Independent Contractors Highlighted at New Conference

LOS ALTOS, Calif., – June 8, 2009 – Staffing Industry Analysts, the premier provider of market intelligence and research about the contingent workforce, announced today the launch of its Staffing Industry Analysts Co-employment and Risk Forum to be held in Washington, D.C., June 18-19, 2009.

With lawsuits against Microsoft, Federal Express and most recently RNC, corporations must understand the issues, legalities and regulations surrounding the use of contingent labor. As more and more corporations use contingent labor to fill voids in staffing from executive level to the shop floor potential litigation increases. The Co- employment and Risk Forum is the only venue where corporate buyers of contingent labor and executives at staffing companies can become educated about the risks and learn how to minimize them.

“We have an incredible line up of legal, regulatory and industry experts to discuss contingent labor risk,” said Ron Mester, Managing Director of Staffing Industry Analysts. “Although corporations are using somewhat less contingent labor right now due to the economic downturn, they still have to be informed about the issues – especially since many of them plan to substantially increase their contingent labor usage as the economy rebounds. This is the best time to educate, plan and make program adjustments.”
Attendees of the Staffing Industry Analysts Co-employment and Risk Forum include more than 50 of the nation’s largest corporations including: Abbott Laboratories, American

Express, Apple, Inc., BP America, Bristol-Myers Squibb Co., Duke Energy, Fedex Corp., Monsanto, Ogilvy Public Relations, Oracle and The Coca-Cola Company to name a few.
