Barry Asin
President
Barry Asin was appointed President of Staffing Industry Analysts in January 2010, with overall responsibility for the company’s strategy, operations and growth, both in the U.S. and globally. He has been with the company since 2003, most recently as Chief Analyst and Managing Executive, where he led the team responsible for SIA’s award-winning research and content. A leading authority on the staffing industry, contingent labor and contingent labor management issues, he is a frequent speaker at industry events and his expertise is quoted in major business and industry publications, including the New York Times, BusinessWeek, Inc. magazine, and USA Today, among others. Prior to joining SIA, Asin spent nearly 12 years as a senior executive at global staffing leader Adecco SA. Before Adecco, he held operations management positions with Pepsico, and he began his professional career with Andersen Consulting, the predecessor of Accenture. He holds an MBA from Harvard University and a BS in engineering from Princeton University.
Hinda Chalew
SVP, Marketing and Interactive Services
Hinda Chalew is responsible for Staffing Industry Analysts' corporate marketing, product marketing and product management. She joined the company in August 2006 with more than 20 years' experience managing marketing for information, research, and high technology products and services. As an alumnus of Dataquest Inc. and Giga Information Group Inc., Chalew also brings tactical research services experience to the company. Chalew holds a BS in business administration from CSU Hayward.
Diana Gabriel
VP, Strategic Solutions
Diana Gabriel joined Staffing Industry Analysts in 2006 in the role of Strategic Solutions executive and is responsible for strategy, advisory services and sales. She possesses over 15 years of experience in the staffing industry working for Adecco North America, PrO Unlimited and ICGCommerce. Her experience includes managing all aspects of branch operations, successfully driving sales and profitability. While in her corporate role she worked closely with the North American Sales team managing large account contract deliverables. In addition, Gabriel worked for PrO Unlimited managing onsite programs for large Silicon Valley technology customers and spent two years with a national consulting company implementing customized contingent staffing programs, partnering with both MSP and VMS companies.
John Nurthen
General Manager, Europe
John Nurthen is responsible for leading all aspects of Staffing Industry Analysts' business in Europe. He has 20 years' experience in the staffing industry having previously worked in a variety of senior managerial roles for three of the world's largest staffing companies: Select Appointments, Vedior and Randstad. During this time, he played an active role in a series of major equity offerings and mergers. Nurthen created the International Review of Employment, which is published in four languages and founded DOVA, now one of the largest global databases of online vacancies. Nurthen played a leading role in the development of common data standards with the creation of HR-XML SIDES in collaboration with other major staffing companies. He has held responsibility for internal and external communications (including investor relations and public affairs), e-Business, technology matters, marketing, research, procurement, and corporate social responsibility. Nurthen has addressed subjects as diverse as internet strategy, job boards, managed services, outsourcing, software asset management, and risk management. Nurthen's experience makes him an authority on global recruitment and contingent workforce issues covering all sectors of the market.
Jon Osborne
VP, Research
Jon Osborne leads the company's team of research analysts to generate a steady flow of market research in support of corporate members. He joined the company in 2004 following a 15-year career in bank financial analysis and investor relations at Bank of America. He holds an MBA and BA in economics from the University of Chicago.
Bryan Peña
VP, Contingent Workforce Strategies and Research
As Staffing Industry Analysts’ Vice President, Contingent Workforce Strategies and Research, Peña is internationally recognized as the expert on contingent workforce management strategies and tactics. His primary function is to manage the unique needs of the CWS Council globally, helping these companies deploy cutting-edge strategies for managing their contingent labor and, as required, provide buy-side view points to staffing firms. He is also responsible for drafting and executing the CWS Council research agenda with the ultimate goal of advancing thought leadership around the growing field of contingent work. An accomplished speaker and presenter, Peña’s specific expertise comes from over a decade of strategic sourcing experience in Fortune 500 companies and includes services pricing and negotiation strategies, contract construction, risk management, and international MSP and VMS program delivery models.
Peña is also known for his bimonthly column, which runs in Staffing Industry Analysts’ publications.
Peña graduated with a BA in economics from University of California at San Diego.
