In our 2013 Contingent Buyer Survey for North America, Staffing Industry Analysts asked respondents how long it takes their companies to pay their staffing suppliers. Across all respondents, the median length of time was 35 days. For companies that use an MSP (managed service provider), the median was 45 days. The median was 30 days for internally managed programs, regardless of whether a VMS (vendor management system) was used. An MSP is a provider that takes primary responsibility for managing a company’s contingent workforce program. A VMS is the technology used to manage such a program. This survey is restricted to companies with 1,000 or more employees.
