Wyoming jobless rate rises, but still lowest

Wyoming posted the lowest jobless rate among all state in January at 3.7%, up from 3.2% in December, the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reported today. Michigan reported the highest unemployment rate among states at 11.6% in January.

South Carolina registered the second-highest jobless rate in January at 10.4%. It was followed by Rhode Island at 10.3% and California at 10.1%

Unemployment rates rose in all states and the District of Columbia in January compared with a year ago.
