World’s fifth-largest staffing firm reports revenue up 10%

Recruit Holdings Co., the world’s fifth-largest staffing firm and the largest staffing firm in Japan, reported net sales rose 10.4 percent to ¥617.3 billion (US$5.64 billion) at the end of the first half of its fiscal year on Sept. 30.

The company operates staffing services, and it operates publishing services as well as digital information services.

Net sales in its staffing segment rose 11.3 percent year over year to ¥328.1 billion (US$3.00 billion).

Japan staffing net sales rose 10.1 percent to ¥191.5 billion (US$1.75 billion) while international staffing net sales rose 13.2 percent to ¥120.7 billion (US$1.25 billion). The company attributed the increase to brisk domestic and overseas staffing business.

Its staffing companies operating in North America include Staffmark, Advantage Resourcing and The CSI Companies. Recruit ranks as No. 11 on the list of largest US staffing and talent engagement firms. Recruit also owns online jobs site Indeed.

Recruit launched an initial public offering on the Tokyo Stock Exchange in October.
