Workforce planning, management job ads hit four-year high

November 13, 2013

The number of U.S. online job ads for workforce planning or workforce management positions rose 13 percent year over year in October to a four-year high of more than 16,000, according to Wanted Analytics, a firm that tracks online job ads.

Metropolitan areas with the most such jobs last month included New York, Los Angeles, Dallas, Boston and Washington, D.C. Although New York had the most available job postings in the U.S., hiring demand there declined 17 percent year over year. The number of jobs also fell in Washington, D.C. Dallas experienced the greatest increase, up 57 percent versus last year.

The hardest metropolitan areas to recruit this talent include San Francisco, Denver, and Charleston, S.C.

The industries with the most workforce planning and management job openings included commercial banking, software publishers, direct health and medical insurance carriers, offices of certified public accountants and computer systems design services. Commercial banking posted the most jobs during October and reported the greatest year-over-year growth, with demand up more than 300 percent compared to last year.
