West Virginia posts highest jobless rate in June

West Virginia posted the highest unemployment rate among all states in June at 7.4%, according to data released today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nevada and Alaska followed at 6.9% and 6.8%, respectively. The District of Columbia had a rate of 7.0%.

Nebraska posted the lowest unemployment rate in June at 2.6%.

The national jobless rate fell to 5.3% in June from 5.5% in May and was 0.8 percentage points lower than in June 2014.
