West Virginia posts highest jobless rate in July

West Virginia posted the highest unemployment rate among all states in July at 7.5%, according to data released today by the US Bureau of Labor Statistics. Nevada and Alaska followed at 6.8% and 6.7%, respectively. The District of Columbia had a rate of 6.8%.

Nebraska posted the lowest unemployment rate in July at 2.7%.

The national jobless rate was unchanged in July from June at 5.3% and was 0.9 percentage points lower than in July 2014.
