The number of U.S. initial claims for unemployment benefits fell 8.0% to 610,000 in the week ended April 11 from the previous week's revised number of 663,000, the U.S. Department of Labor reported today. The four-week moving average of claims fell 1.3% to 651,000 from the previous week's revised average of 659,500.
