Web: Supreme Court to hear staffing security suit

March 03, 2014

Reuters reported the U.S. Supreme Court agreed to hear a case over whether workers should be paid for time waiting in security lines. The case began in 2010 when workers filed a lawsuit against Integrity Staffing Solutions.

The workers were supplied by Integrity to Amazon.com warehouses, according to a second amended complaint in the original lawsuit. The workers were required to go through a metal detector at the end of their shifts as part of a strategy to deter theft. However, the workers claim they were not compensated for the checks.
