Web: Boards seek CFOs with GM chops

A Wall Street Journal senior editor blogs that 26 percent of this year’s big-company chief financial officer appointees came from a general manager job, rather than a financial one. Turnover among CFOs has surged this year, and corporate boards are increasingly filling CFO vacancies with executives who have general management experience, rather than career finance types.
