Wanted forecasts rise in U.S. job losses

March 30, 2010

The U.S. lost 52,000 nonfarm jobs in March, according to an estimate released today by Wanted Technologies. In comparison, 36,000 jobs were lost in February, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Wanted said it projects a greater decrease in jobs for March because of rising unemployment insurance claims and a slowing in the growth of online job ads.

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics will issue its employment report for March on Friday.

Wanted is a provider of employment market information. The Conference Board uses Wanted data to create its measure of online help-wanted ads.
