Wanted estimates U.S. added 220,000 jobs

May 04, 2010

The U.S. will record a gain of 220,000 nonfarm jobs in April, according to an estimate released today by Wanted Technologies.

Official job numbers for April will be released Friday by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. In March, the U.S. gained 162,000 nonfarm jobs.

Wanted forecasts a gain of 220,000 in April in light of decreasing claims for unemployment insurance and an increase in job ads. Wanted's forecast includes a gain of 66,000 U.S. Census workers.

Wanted is a provider of employment market information. The Conference Board uses Wanted data to create its measure of online help-wanted ads.
