Volt Information Sciences Inc. (OTCBB: VISI) reported fourth-quarter staffing revenue rose 3 percent to $501 million in the fourth quarter of 2012 when compared to the same period last year, according to preliminary information released today by the company. The data is subject to change based on completion of the company’s review of account matters fiscal years back through 2008.
For fiscal year 2012, the staffing services segment reported revenue of approximately $1.96 billion, up 4 percent from approximately $1.89 billion in fiscal 2011.
The increases were primarily the result of the recognition of previously deferred revenue; increased contingent staffing and associate vendor employees on assignment; and increased technology consulting and outsourcing services and solutions revenues, according to the company.
On average, approximately 33,100 U.S. staffing employees were on assignment in the quarter compared to approximately 31,900 in the fourth quarter of 2011.
