Volt delays quarterly results

September 14, 2009

Volt Information Sciences Inc. (NYSE: VOL) said it will delay its third quarter earnings release and investor conference call, previously scheduled for Thursday, Sept. 10.

The delay is due to additional time the company needs to finalize its results for the third quarter ended Aug. 2, 2009. In particular, the company is reexamining its accounting for an aggregate of approximately $12 million of revenue reported during fiscal 2007 and fiscal 2008, during which the company's revenue were $2.4 billion in each year. Volt is assessing whether some portion of this revenue and related costs should have been recorded in later periods.

The filing for the quarter results was due at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission by Sept. 11.
