Volt Information Sciences Inc. (NYSE: VOL) acquired Advice Consulting, a Montevideo, Uruguay, company that does retained search and consulting. Terms of the deal were not announced.

"Being a part of Volt will provide us with an important base of new corporate clients, more and better financial resources for the development of our businesses, as well as new global capabilities to add to our present service offerings," said Federico Muttoni, a manager at Advice Consulting.

Separately, VMC, an information technology services subsidiary of Volt, announced it opened an operations center in Hyderabad, India. The center has approximately 200 developers, support engineers, and project managers.
