Volkswagen Plans to Hire on Contingents

March 22, 2012

Volkswagen Group of America plans to create 800 new jobs at its Chattanooga, Tenn., manufacturing facility, the company announced. Many of those new jobs will go to contingent workers at the facility who are now employed by Aerotek, opening up opportunities for new contingents.

“These 800 new positions are a combination of production and support functions,” said Hans-Herbert Jagla, executive vice president of human resources at the Volkswagen operation. “We will use this opportunity to hire many of our current Aerotek contract employees. So, Aerotek will be recruiting to fill full-time contract production positions that will open up as a result.”

The Volkswagen plant in Chattanooga presently employs more than 2,700 people, about 2,200 by Volkswagen and an additional 500 by Aerotek.
