United Nations seeks online staffing provider

An online staffing provider is being sought by the United Nations Procurement Division in New York. The agency released an “expression of interest” on Wednesday.

“The UN requires a Contractor that provides an online platform of freelance services to acquire professional services in performing specific tasks covering a range of activities,” according to the expression of interest. “These activities will be performed during a short term period which is defined as no more than three weeks. The online platform of freelance services is a type of talent exchange platform wherein [Office of the Information and Communications Technology] can post the requirements or skills needed for particular tasks and where workers, contractors, freelancers can offer their skills and services for these limited projects. Services will be provided on an ‘as required basis.’”

The roles which will be required include illustrator, graphic designer, data analyst, data visualization specialist, technical writer (multiple languages), proofreader (multiple languages), game designer, computer programmer, mobile application developer, search engine optimization specialist and events coordinator.
