Adecco SA may be interested in buying SThree, according to news reports. And the Capita Group said it landed a contract to supply workers for the 2011 census in England and Wales.

The Financial Times reported there was talk Adecco, the world's largest staffing firm, may be interested in acquiring London-based staffing firm SThree. SThree has 33 offices in the U.K. and 25 in other countries, including one in the U.S.

Capita Group PLC reported the Office for National Statistics selected it to recruit and train 35,000 temporary field staff workers for the 2011 census of population and housing in England and Wales. It will also serve as payroll provider. The contract will be worth more than GBP25 million (US$35.9 million) over two-and-a-half years, according to the company.
