Unemployment claims fall by 22,000

In the week ended Feb. 2, the advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial unemployment claims was 356,000, a decrease of 22,000, or 5.8%, from the previous week's revised figure of 378,000, the U.S. Department of Labor reported. The four-week moving average was 335,000, an increase of 8,500 from the previous week's revised average of 326,500 and the highest level in a month.
