Uber gains among business travelers; GM rolls out Maven

January 21, 2016

Business travelers used Uber more than rental cars, according to one report. Separately, General Motors is using workers from its recently acquired human cloud Sidecar assets on a new brand called Maven.

In the Uber news, business travel expense software firm Certify reported spending on Uber overcame spending on car rental as a percent of total US ground transportation spending for business travelers for the first time in the fourth quarter.

Meanwhile, General Motors announced a personal mobility brand called Maven. The brand’s workers include those from human cloud firm Sidecar, whose assets GM recently purchased, as well as workers from Google and Zipcar. Though not apparently a human cloud operation itself, Maven offers car sharing services and started with a program in the Ann Arbor, Mich. area.
