US - Monster responds to JobDiva suit

November 21, 2013

Monster Worldwide Inc. responded to a lawsuit filed this week by staffing software firm JobDiva Inc. saying it will vigorously defend itself against the lawsuit.

“As an Internet pioneer and longtime industry leader, Monster’s history of innovation, which began well before JobDiva’s existence, has been recognized with numerous patents in the area of resume search and other online recruitment technologies,” the company said in a statement. “Therefore, we will aggressively defend ourselves in this lawsuit, and will explore all legal avenues available to enforce Monster’s rights under its own intellectual property.”

JobDiva’s lawsuit alleges patent infringement on its resume search technology. It was filed in federal court in New York. The lawsuit seeks monetary damages and injunctive relief.
