US – Kforce Revenue Rises 3.5%

October 31, 2012

Kforce Inc. (NASD: KFRC), a Tampa, Fla.-based professional staffing firm, reported third-quarter revenue rose 3.5 percent on a year-over-year basis to $270.2 million.

Third-quarter technology staffing revenue rose 3.1 percent on a year-over-year basis to $170.6 million.

Third-quarter revenue in other business lines included:

  • Finance/accounting staffing revenue, up 8.2 percent to $58.7 million
  • Health information management, up 4.5 percent to $18.2 million
  • Government solutions, down 5.0 percent to $22.7 million

“The environment for professional staffing and the demand for our services, particularly in technology staffing, continues to be positive,” said Chairman and CEO David Dunkel. “Over the past few quarters, however, revenue growth has slowed as the uncertain economic outlook is dampening demand.”

Still, bill rates are rising because the supply of highly skilled candidates remains tight, Dunkel said.

Kforce’s third-quarter gross margin edged up to 32.9 percent from 32.4 percent in the year-ago quarter.

The company reported third-quarter net income of $9.3 million, a 9.7 percent increase compared with net income of $8.4 million in the year-ago quarter.
