US – Kforce Revenue Rises 11%

Kforce Inc. (NASD: KFRC), a Tampa, Fla.-based professional staffing firm, reported second-quarter revenue of $274.1 million, a 10.5 percent increase from revenue of $248.0 million in the year-ago quarter.

Temporary staffing revenue rose year over year in all but one of the company’s divisions in the second quarter:

  • Technology: Up 11.1 percent to $171.7 million
  • Finance/accounting: Up 11.1 percent to $60.9 million
  • Health information management: Up 19.1 percent to $20.0 million
  • Government solutions: Down 1.8 percent to $21.5 million

The company reported second-quarter results were affected by a pre-tax impairment charge of $65.3 million in its government solutions reporting unit. For more information, click here.

Search revenue rose 10.4 percent on a year-over-year basis to $13.2 million in the second quarter.

Kforce’s second-quarter gross margin edged up to 32.7 percent from 32.1 percent in the year-ago quarter.

The company reported a second-quarter net loss of $33.2 million, compared with net income of $6.8 million in the year-ago quarter.

Kforce forecast third-quarter revenue of between $271.0 million to $277.0 million, ranging from a year-over-year decrease of 4.2 percent to 6.2 percent.
