US – Idaho posts largest increase in staffing jobs

Idaho posted the biggest year-over-year percent increase in “employment services” industry jobs in January among 36 states tracked, according to preliminary data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics that was not adjusted for seasonality. The number of employment services jobs in Idaho rose by 23.5 percent to 12,600 in January from 10,200 in January 2012.

The employment services industry includes temporary help services as well as employment placement agencies, executive search services and professional employer organizations.

Georgia posted the second-largest year-over-year percent increase of 11.7 percent to 129,200 employment services jobs in January from 115,700 jobs in January 2012.

At the other end of the spectrum, Nevada lost the highest percentage of employment services jobs — a 10.1 percent drop to 17,800 from 19,800 in January 2012.
