The operator of two staffing firms in the Lancaster County, Penn., area faces a maximum of five years in prison and a $100,000 fine if convicted for not paying $229,177 in federal employment taxes, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania reported Wednesday.

Kim Yoeun, 49, of Lancaster, Penn., operated Lancaster Packers Inc. and BC Farm Resources, firms which supplied temporary laborers for agricultural work as well as packaging and assembly, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Yoeun paid $3.3 million in cash wages under the table between January 2005 and December 2007, failing to pay $299,177 in taxes to the IRS, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

Lancaster Packers had six clients from January 2005 and August 2007, and was paid $5.2 million by clients, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office. BC Farm Resources supplied contingent workers to five clients between August 2007 and December 2007 receiving $1.7 million

Charges were filed against Yoeun on Monday.
