AMN Healthcare Services Inc. (NYSE: AHS) promoted Beth Machado to president of travel nursing. Machado will have responsibility for strategy and performance of AMN’s travel nursing recruitment and account management teams. In addition, she will oversee the international and electronic medical records businesses. Machado will also oversee AMN’s Rapid Response brand, which supplies short-term travel brand.

“This newly created role truly underscores the strategic importance of our travel nursing business,” said AMN President and CEO Susan Salka. “By having a single executive leader oversee both the recruiting aspect and account management of our travel nursing business, we can provide a more integrated and holistic approach to each of our clients.”

Machado has been at AMN for more than 20 years and began as a nurse recruiter. She most recently served as senior vice president of recruitment.

As president of travel nursing, Machado will report to Ralph Henderson, AMN’s president of healthcare staffing.
