UK – Kellen Executive Chairman steps down

05 March 2015

UK recruitment firm Kellan Group (KLN: LSE) announced that Tony Reeves has stepped down with immediate effect as Executive Chairman. Richard Ward has been appointed to the Board as Executive Chairman.

Tony Reeves is a staffing industry veteran having previously served as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of hotgroup plc, and Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Delphi Group Plc. It was originally announced that he would be stepping down as Executive Chairman of Kellen in January but his departure was delayed as the company continued to seek a new Chief Executive.

Richard Ward has over 16 years' experience in the recruitment industry and 10 years as a Senior Executive Director. He has a solid track record of success in business growth, turnaround and change management and an in-depth understanding of multiple sectors, ranging from engineering, I.T, built, and commercial, to name a few. Mr Ward has been involved first-hand in overseas start-ups and established businesses, both in Europe, Africa and Asia.

In addition; Mark Darby, Kellan Group COO, has been appointed to the Board as a director of the company. He took up a number of operational and sales leadership roles at Parity Group Plc after successfully selling his own executive search and selection business to them. Mark joined the Group in 2005 and has played a key role in restructuring a number of the Kellan brands.

Rakesh Kirpalani, Group Finance Director, commented: "Michael and I are delighted to welcome Richard and Mark to the Board. Richard brings a wealth of experience that will be invaluable to Kellan; whilst Mark's promotion to the Board is richly deserved for his efforts over the last nine years with the Group. We would also like to thank Tony for his support and contributions over the last seven years and wish him every success for the future."
