UK – Impellam finance director to step down

The board of recruitment firm Impellam (IPEL: LSE) announced that Group Finance Director Andrew Burchall has decided to leave the company to pursue other personal and career opportunities. Mr Burchall has served as Group Finance Director since Impellam was formed in May 2008. The board of directors has commenced a search for his successor.

According to Impellam’s press statement, Mr Burchall has overseen significant improvements in shareholder return, profitability, and cash generation during his tenure. As Impellam looks to enter a new phase of growth and development, he has decided that this is the right time for him to step down. He will leave Impellam at the end of July 2014, following the release of the 2014 interim financial results.

Julia Robertson, Chief Executive Officer commented: "The Board would like to acknowledge the contribution that Andrew has made to Impellam over the past six years and prior to that in his various roles with The Corporate Services Group plc. His knowledge and commitment have left the Group well positioned both in terms of operational resilience and financial strength."

Impellam operates primarily in the UK and the USA, with smaller operations in Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and mainland Europe. According to research from Staffing Industry Analysts, the firm is ranked among the 20 largest staffing companies in the world.

In trading today, the company’s share price fell by -0.2% to £4.75, a rise of +22.4% compared with a year ago. Based on its current share price, the company has a market value of £208.6 million.
