Turkey – Gi Group opens regional office and plans for greater expansion

18 December 2014

Italian staffing firm Gi Group announced that they have opened a new office in Istanbul; in order to create a bridge between the Middle East and Turkey, the trading, cultural, and strategic crossroads between Europe and Asia.

The company has plans to open two further offices, one in Ankara and the other in Izmir, the second and third largest cities in Turkey, during 2016.

The Istanbul office will support multinational clients, local companies with global expansion plans, and Italian companies investing in the region. Gi Group will provide temporary staffing, outsourcing, and payroll services; in addition to middle management and professional search and selection services through the company’s Wyser brand.

Stefano Colli-Lanzi, CEO of Gi Group, commented: “This move is of special importance for us for many reasons. Opening in Turkey gives us the chance to complete our European presence and build the foundations for expansion into Asia Minor and the Middle East. With our global expertise, moreover, we hope to be able to make a fundamental contribution to the development of the Turkish job market.”

In the Turkish market the Group will initially provide HR solutions to companies in the manufacturing, engineering, banking & finance, and administration sectors; later focussing on the fast moving consumer goods sector. Gi Group’s goal is to become one of the country's main human resources companies within the next three years.

"It is an ambitious project, an authentic start up, which the Gi Group decided to launch in recognition of the country's importance in Middle Eastern dynamics. A presence in Turkey is also a strategic link with Azerbaijan, Belarus, the United Arab Emirates, and Kazakhstan; countries in which we have strategic partnerships and this will enable us to launch our planned new openings in Africa and the USA in 2015, and in APAC before the end of 2016 with confidence," Mr Colli-Lanzi concluded.
