TriNet: Silicon Valley tech hiring improves

The strong trend in hiring for the U.S. tech sector continued in October, with net job growth at 1.30 percent, a slight decrease from September’s growth 1.55 percent, according to TriNet’s SMBeat report.

Hiring in tech hubs around the country is slowing down while the Silicon Valley is heating up, posting net job growth of 1.02 percent in October, according to the report. New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Denver-Boulder areas are holding steady or slowing compared to last month. Denver-Boulder in particular has decreased significantly, dropping to 0.45 percent in October, compared to 1.81 percent last month.

The professional employer organization reported employment levels among its client firms rose by 0.73 percent in October, slower than September’s rate of 0.78 percent. New hires were at 3.39 percent and terminations and quits at 1.38 percent and 1.22 percent, respectively.
