This week is Staffing for Canada Week

June 04, 2013

Staffing for Canada Week takes place this week. The annual event is celebrated by members of the Association of Canadian Search, Employment and Staffing Services to acknowledge the more than 400,000 people who are employed in the staffing profession in Canada. ACSESS members represent 85 percent of the staffing volume in Canada.

This year’s Staffing for Canada Week was recognized by Prime Minister Stephen Harper.

“Staffing agencies provide a valuable service by connecting businesses with job seekers,” Harper said in a statement. “Staffing for Canada Week presents an ideal opportunity to increase public awareness of employment and staffing agencies, while offering the many Canadians who have already benefited from these services a chance to express their appreciation.”

Staffing for Canada Week began in 1980 when it was known as “National Temporaries’ Week.”
