The Mergis Group said it created a team to focus on staffing business related to the U.S. government's Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) and other government stimulus programs. The team's services will include executive recruitment and project management as well contingent staffing in accounting and finance, information technology and other professional-office management roles. The team will be led by Brendan Courtney, senior VP and group executive.

"The creation of the TARP initiative and government stimulus programs have added a new dimension and subsequent need for strong finance and accounting, mortgage and legal professionals, much like how Sarbanes Oxley did in 2002," Courtney said.

The Mergis Group is a division of Spherion Corp. (NYSE: SFN). It provides staffing in finance and accounting, engineering, sales and marketing, legal and human resources.
