Texas-based executive recruitment firm HireBetter acquired bkoAustin, an Austin, Texas-based firm that provides chief financial officers and chief information officers on an interim or project basis.

HireBetter, also headquartered in Austin, works almost exclusively with high-growth companies, with most being in the middle market. It serves clients throughout the U.S. and Canada.

The transaction closed July 1; terms were not announced.

The bkoAustin brand will merge into HireBetter and specifically drive its interim services division. bkoAustin President Brian O'Neil will remain with HireBetter as vice president of interim services. O'Neil worked with HireBetter CEO Kurt Wilkin at The Controller Group, a Texas accounting and financial consulting firm, prior to its acquisition by Tatum and subsequently by Randstad.
