Tennessee Staffing Association relaunches

August 14, 2014

The Tennessee Staffing Association, a chapter of the American Staffing Association, started up again this month. The chapter discontinued during the recession due to a lack of support.

“Staffing business owners and managers were more concerned with survival than supporting the chapter and unfortunately it went dormant,” said AtWork President and COO Jason Leverant, who spearheaded the effort and was elected president of the chapter at its first official development meeting.

Other industry leaders involved and participating on the board include Chris Coates of OR Nurses/Source One; Howie Arnold of Parallon; Yvette Fragile with Accuforce; Terry Goodman with T and T Distribution; Shelly Anderson of Elwood Staffing; and Josh Sturgill, owner and president of Consolidated Staffing.

“We have had excellent response and support from a number of vendor partners as well, including Essential StaffCARE,” said Leverant.

The Tennessee Staffing Association’s mission is to promote the interests of its members through legal and legislative advocacy, public relations, education and the establishment of high standards of ethical conduct, according to Leverant.

“Tennessee is a great state to be in from a business perspective, and we hope that this association helps keep it that way moving forward,” he said. “We look forward to promoting strong ethical business practices in our industry, and provide educational opportunities to help better an overall understanding and perspective of staffing in the state.”
