Temps Inc., a St. Louis-based healthcare staffing firm, struck a deal to acquire BrightMed Inc., a provider of travel nurses and allied healthcare professionals. Terms of the deal were not announced.

"This will be our entrée into travel healthcare staffing," said Todd Kane, president and CEO of Temps Inc. The company operates more on a per diem business model right now, and the acquisition will add depth and breadth to its business lines, Kane said.
