February 19, 2009

Florida plans to hire temporary workers for concealed weapons permits. Meanwhile, Nevada site plans to cut 500 contract workers.

Florida Agricultural Commissioner Charles Bronson got approval to spend $3.9 million to bring in 61 temporary workers to help process a backlog of concealed weapons permits, the Miami Herald newspaper reported.

Some 500 contract workers will be cut by a contractor at the U.S. Department of Energy's Yucca Mountain Project, the Pahrump Valley Times newspaper reported.
