Technology wages edged higher in the second quarter, according to the Yoh index of technology wages released Tuesday. The index ended the quarter at a reading of 116.9, up from 112.4 in the same period in 2008.

"Wages in professional and technology sectors remained stable, but in no way, represent overwhelming evidence that the recession is done impacting the workforce," Lori Schultz, president of Yoh, said in a statement. "The continued demand for highly specialized, technical workers paired with the stability in associated wages leads us to be cautiously optimistic that economic restoration is in progress."

Yoh, a Philadelphia-based technology and professional staffing firm, bases its index of technology wages on data compiled by its 75 field offices.
