Tata Consultancy Services Ltd. and Cognizant Technology Solutions to hire 62,000 in 2011.

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd., a global IT services firm, plans to recruit 37,000 professionals this year, the International Business Times reported. Cognizant Technology Solutions, also an IT services firm, announced plans to hire 25,000 new employees, The Economic Times reported.

Cognizant also announced last week it is opening a new center in Phoenix that can accommodate more than 1,000 employees and, separately, the company said it now has more than 100,000 workers around the world. The Phoenix center will provide consulting, application services, IT infrastructure services and business and knowledge process services. It replaces a 500-person facility.

In addition, Cognizant also reported it recently crossed the 100,000-employee mark in terms of global employees. The company has 17,000 workers in North America.
