Tactical Workforce Solutions acquired by STS

March 14, 2013

Tactical Workforce Solutions, a Brookfield, Wis.-based provider of staffing and engineering services, was acquired by STS Holdings. The deal took place in October, but the firm will officially change its name to STS Technical Services on Friday, said its president, Rick Koenig.

The company provides engineering staffing, skilled labor, engineering services, workforce management (such as RPO and project management) and other services — including security-cleared personnel. Its customers include a 50/50 mix of defense contractors and firms in the civilian market.

Tactical Workforce Solutions had revenue of $51 million in 2012. Terms of the transaction were not announced.

The company was at one time part of Advantage Resourcing. However, Advantage was acquired in December 2011 by Recruit Holdings Ltd., one of the world’s largest staffing firms, but the deal did not include the staffing operations that became Tactical Workforce Solutions.

The buyer, STS Holdings, is based in Jensen Beach, Fla. STS Holdings is a diversified company that specializes in support services for the aerospace industry through its four divisions: STS AeroStaff Services, STS Engineering Solutions, STS Line Maintenance and STS Component Solutions. Founded in 1985, the company provides aircraft technician staffing services; engineering and DER support service; aircraft component and supply chain management; and line maintenance services for on the ground aircraft. Since inception, the company has more than quadrupled its size and has expectations of continuing growth to meet the ever-increasing needs of the aerospace industry.
