Survey: Workers Cite Most Prized Summer Benefits

As summer approaches, workers look forward to coveted perks that come along with it, according to the results of a survey released by OfficeTeam, a division of Robert Half International Inc. (NYSE: RHI).

When asked which summertime benefit they would most like to have, 41 percent of respondents identified flexible schedules as the top summer benefit.

The responses:
Flexible schedules: 41 percent
Leave early on Fridays: 28 percent
Activities like company picnic/potluck: 11 percent 
More relaxed dress code: 5 percent
Other: 7 percent
Don’t know: 9 percent

The study also showed that employers may be warming up to these perks, with 75 percent of human resources managers saying their company offers flexible schedules during the summer and 63 percent noting that workers are allowed to leave early on Fridays.

OfficeTeam developed the survey, which was conducted by an independent research firm and includes responses from 449 workers 18 years of age or older in office environments, as well as 515 HR managers at companies with 20 or more employees.
