Survey - IT, healthcare to add workers

Demand will continue for information technology and healthcare workers in the second half of this year, according to survey data released by CareerBuilder.com. Thirty-five percent of IT employers in the U.S. plan to increase the number of full-time, permanent employees between July and December, according to the data. In healthcare, 26% plan to do the same.

The survey also found that 20% of IT workers were actively searching for new jobs, while 85% of those not looking would be open if the right opportunity appeared. In healthcare, 16% of workers were actively looking, and 86% of those who weren't would consider other opportunities.

The survey questioned 216 IT hiring managers and 257 healthcare hiring managers as well as 506 IT employees and 794 healthcare employees.
