Sun Healthcare Group Inc. (NASD: SUNH) reported second-quarter revenue in its medical staffing division, CareerStaff, rose 3.6 percent to $23.5 million from $22.7 million in the year-ago quarter.

Irvine, Calif.-based Sun also provides other healthcare services. Total first-quarter revenue for the company was $457.1 million, down 2.9 percent from revenue of $470.6 million in the year-ago period.

Sun reported a Q2 net loss of $980,000, compared with net income of $9.9 million in the year-ago period.
