Sun Healthcare Group Inc. (NASD: SUNH) reported fourth-quarter revenue in its medical staffing services segment fell 1.9% year-over-year to $29.2 million.

However, full-year 2008 medical staffing services revenue rose 8.3% to $120.4 million from $111.2 million in 2007. Sun reported that medical staffing services revenue would have risen only 5.7% if it included the results of Harborside Healthcare Corp., which it acquired in April 2007, as if the companies had been combined throughout all of 2007.

Irvine CA-based Sun operates a variety of healthcare businesses including CareerStaff Unlimited, a healthcare staffing firm. Sun posted total 2008 revenue of $1.82 billion.
