Summit: Healthcare Staffing to Reach $8.8 Billion

September 22, 2011

U.S. healthcare staffing industry revenue will rise to $8.8 billion in 2012, and it’s the only staffing segment forecast for higher growth in 2012 than 2011, said Barry Asin, president, Staffing Industry Analysts in his keynote speech at the 2011 Healthcare Staffing Summit in Philadelphia.

“The healthcare industry, in general, is a good place to be,” Asin said. “We think healthcare staffing has seen the worst of the storm.”

In addition to Asin’s opening keynote, summit attendees also this morning heard about healthcare reform from William Frist, a medical doctor and U.S. Senate majority leader from 2003 to 2007. Frist took a doctor-senator’s look at the inside of healthcare reform.

The summit got rolling Wednesday afternoon and will continue through Friday.
