Avionté Inc., a provider of front- and back-office software to the staffing industry, received an investment from Serent Capital. The San Francisco-based private equity firm now has a majority stake in the company.

Avionté was seeking an investment partner to help it grow and enhance its commitment to customers.

“We felt that Serent was the perfect partner to help us expand our business and improve our customer service,” Avionté CEO John Long said. “Serent’s expertise and resources will be invaluable as we take our company to the next level.”

Long said Avionté has been growing quickly, and the investment will help the company accelerate growth and take it to the next level. It will also allow Avionté to become active in mergers and acquisitions, possibly including other software or service vendors.

Avionté had a user base of 7,000 in 2013; it is based in Eagan, Minn.
