The American Staffing Association's index measuring changes in temporary employment remained at a reading of 72 in May, the same reading as in April, the association announced this week. Demand for staffing employees has remained flat since January, according to the association.
The index measures changes in the number of temporary and contract workers both weekly and monthly. The monthly measure is taken from the week containing the 12th of the month. The index's baseline value of 100 was set in June 2006.
