The American Staffing Association's index measuring temporary employment showed signs of stabilizing since the first of the year. Its reading of 72 in March is roughly flat compared with February's reading of 73, according to the association.
The index measures changes in the number of temporary and contract employees both weekly and monthly. Its baseline value of 100 was set in June 2006.
