Staffing firm owner to pay $4.2 million, gets prison

A staffing firm owner was sentenced to three years in prison and ordered to pay $4.2 million in restitution to the Internal Revenue Service, the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas announced Tuesday. Bruce Alexander Brown, owner of Excell Personnel Inc., had been indicted on charges of failing to file payroll taxes for Excell in 2001 and 2002 as well as personal tax returns for 2000, 2001, and 2002.

Brown, a Dallas resident, must report to the Bureau of Prisons on Feb. 13, according to the office.
